Government Policy

There are many sources of information available in relation to wind energy however, much of this can be inaccurate and misleading. The most reliable and trustworthy information available is that which has been verified by a group of experts which is commonly referred to as peer-reviewed.

The Draft Revised Wind Energy Development Guidelines December 2019 guidelines are intended to ensure a consistency of approach throughout the country in the identification of suitable locations for wind energy development and the treatment of planning applications for wind energy developments. They should also be of assistance to developers and the wider public in considering wind energy development.
